3 Small Business Motivation Strategies for Marketing Online

It is easy for a small business marketing online to lose motivation when online marketing may be a new ball game.  Below are 3 Small Business motivation strategies to help you make sense of the web and how to use it effectively to attract clients online.

1) Dedicate at least 15 minutes to improve your marketing

Whether it be reading a good Small Business marketing book, e-book, or reading marketing blogs like this one, commit to learning more about marketing effectively.   You must learn how to be ethically persuasive and how to communicate your message to your target market (your ideal clients).

With the constant onslaught of marketing messages we receive on a daily basis, it becomes more challenging to cut through the noise and grab a prospects attention.

This leads us to a second point.

2) Be Creative with Your Marketing

Think of creative ways you can cut through the information overload and marketing noise your potential clients are hearing.

Start a business blog and provide phenomenal content (perhaps a free video series) – do something that others in your niche/filed are not doing!  Be a purple cow!

For some inspiration put Seth Godin’s “Purple Cow” on your reading list.

3) Develop a Strategic Marketing Plan that leverages your advertising dollars:

Traditional advertising (newspaper ads, radio, and mailers) has become less and less effective and more expensive.  Think of out of the box guerrilla marketing and simple online marketing strategies you can incorporate into your marketing plan.

Learn how to build community online.  Online marketing will save you thousands of dollars and is more effective than traditional media.

Start learning all you can about New Media Marketing (marketing, via blogs, social networking online, podcasts).

4) Become an Information Marketer

All small business owners, even those who haven’t begun marketing online, are in the business of providing solutions to problems.  Your goal should be to provide top notch information to your prospects that will pre-sell them on YOU and how you ARE the solution they are seeking.

Awesome things can be done by simply offering a free report (ebook) or free video in exchange for their name and email.

Happy Small Business Marketing.   We look forward to hearing your comments below.
