How to Increase Business Motivation and Find Laser Targeted Focus for Web Success

Focus. Either you have it or you don’t.  Very much like a photograph can be great or not depending on the degree of its focus, your business motivation and success will rest on the degree of focus you have in your small business’ internet marketing efforts.

As fate would have it, distractions will take place, but if you have a goal and can visualize the end result, your drive and focus will keep you on the path to web success.

So how do you find that laser targeted focus?  It’s not as challenging as you might think.

Increasing Business Motivation for Web Success by 100%

1) Set a Specific Web Marketing Goal

It might sound a bit simple, but developing laser focus entails that you set your eye on the prize.

What online marketing goal would you like to achieve within the next 30 days?  Make it specific.

Would you like to increase your website or blog’s traffic by a certain amount or percent?   Only when your goal is specific will you be able to write clear action steps to get you going in the right direction.  If you simply stated your goal was to increase web traffic then it would be too broad of a goal.

2) Write Down The Action Steps You Must Take

Once you set a specific goal, you can jot down the action steps you must take in order to move forward and keep focused.  If you are trying to increase your website or blog’s traffic or get more blog readers will you write two or more ezine articles per week linking back to your site?

Will you increase your presence on one or two social networks?  What actions will you take that are different from your normal social networking interactions?

Will you also ensure you are on track with your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) using the best keywords to get found by your customers?  Are you including your keywords in your blog’s title, description as well?

Being specific will help you easily create your action list.

Once you’ve got your action steps listed.  Determine how long each will take you and plan to fit that activity into your schedule accordingly.  If need be plan to delegate those steps that don’t “light you up” and get you excited.  Focus on your strengths.  You want to ensure you don’t overload yourself with “to dos” and prioritize from that action list so that you can focus on what will bring the most effective results.

3) Visualize the End Result

After creating your action list, create a vivid picture in your mind.  See the traffic on your site or blog increase.  Imagine more comments, sales and long lasting relationships taking place.  See it in your mind’s eye.  The more you reflect and visualize your success, the more motivated you become to continue doing what you must do in order to achieve that goal.

If visualizing in your mind is challenging you can create a “vision board.”  Some people might find this “hokey” but it really works.   The vision board will be a visual collage of images you can cut out from magazines on a big poster board.  Keeping positive reinforcing images in your sight while facing a challenging day or week will do wonders for keeping your focus sharp and on target.

4) Imagine How Achieving Your Goal will Feel

Not only should you visualize, you can also imagine how it would feel to have reached your goal.  Invoke the emotions of having savored that success.  Describe it.  Write it down.

Taking these 4 simple steps can help you tremendously in keeping laser focus to accomplish your web goals.
