Motivation Quotes on Success to Live By

Today’s does of motivation comes from a few great motivation quotes on success. Some are my favorites and others I’ve  recently come across.

I just love reading quotes that originate from successful business owners, entrepreneurs and the greats in their fields.   Reading these quotes can tell you a lot about the mindset of a successful business owner.  Naturally, we all have our ups and downs, but if you keep your brain and thoughts in the right frame of mind you’ll continually amaze yourself.

One of the reasons I love writing the Motivation Monday column here is that I get to inspire others and motivate myself too!  Win win.  (smile)

Before sharing a few of my favorites with you, I wanted to share a great quote that I recently found in a fortune cookie…yes, that’s right a fortune cookie.  It’s so good that I have it taped to my computer monitor and I smile as I see it…

“You are vigorous in words and action.” – Author Unkown Found in Dali Burgado‘s Fortune Cookie

I went a step further and tweeted this a while ago on Twitter stating:

“The key to success is to be vigorous in words and action.”

To be vigorous in words doesn’t mean to be verbose or nasty.  To me it means to learn how particular words can shape the emotions and feelings of your target audience in a manner that will more than likely have the client requesting your products and services.  Learn the words that elicit a higher response from your clients (for instance thank you vs. I appreciate you).  This really is the art of ethical persuasion.  So being vigorous in words and taking action are supreme in my book when it comes to finding success.

At the same token, don’t hem and haw until you’ve perfected a marketing method in your small business before you start to take action.  As I say these words the following quote comes to mind, which is a spin off of a military quote by George S. Patton.

A good plan executed today is better than a perfect plan executed tomorrow. ” – George S. Patton.

I wrote about the importance of taking calculated risk and overcoming fear of risks in your small business last Monday.  Whether or not the action steps are “perfect” does not matter because you make PROGRESS either way.  And…em by the way, I AM a recovering perfectionist (lol)…

Here are a few more Success and Motivation Quotes that will keep you going this week!

“Action is the foundational key to all success.” – Pablo Picasso

In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure. – Bill Cosby

I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed. – Michael Jordan

Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome. -  Booker T. Washington
