How To Check Your Search Engine Rankings

SEO Rank Checker

SEO Rank Checker by seobook.com

“How do I Check My Search Engine rankings,” is a question I get a lot from my coaching clients.

There are several ways you can do this.  However, for beginners to Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and those who love Firefox, there is a quick way to check your search engine rankings for keywords you are trying to rank for on your site, or blog, especially if it is small and does not have mega content yet.  It’s called SEO Rank Checker, which is maintained by seobook.  You do actually have to opt-in and get a free account as seobook (enter your name and email address at seobook.com in order to claim this tool).  However, it is very well worth opting in.

The SEO Rank Checker Tool Allows You To:

  1. Insert your web site(s) URL and keywords
  2. Specify which search engines you want to check your ranking status on
  3. Save results to run them again at a later time (you can schedule the time you run the results again in advance)
  4. Export Your Results to a .csv file, which can be saved as an xls or xlsx files for Excel
  5. Also Export the History of Keyword Rankings Over Time to see your improvement

Here is a snapshot of the place where you schedule SEO Rank Checker to check your rankings for you.

Above is a snapshot of the options you control.  Make sure to select the search engines you want to track and also set a delay between queries, as you can get a “time out” from Sir Google.  In other words your IP address may get banned for a bit for submitting to many queries and doing so too fast.

Here is a nifty 5 minute video, Aaron Wall, CEO of seobook recorded to show you how to use it.

  3. For multiple keyword, i mostly use rank checker to check my keyword rankings. But by using rank checker, the ranking will differ from original rankings.

  4. Some times rank checker’s result vary compare to manual checking. Better to check keyword position manually.
