3 Facebook Social Marketing Tips to Build Your Sphere of Influence

Facebook Social MarketingFacebook has recently become the 2nd highly most visited site in the word.  If that isn’t a sign that your business should be marketing on Facebook, I don’t know what is.   However, many newcomers to Facebook, and social marketing in general, have a huge misconception of what marketing on Facebook entails.

Many “MLM’ers” begin to send invites to purchase products without getting to know the new people they befriend.   The more folks you follow, the more blatant you realize what the “pitchy” links are.  Some tweet nothing but affiliate product links and “order now” junk.  Quite frankly, most newbie business owners have it all wrong.  Some people think it’s about how fast you can add friends to your circle.  Well, what good is 5,000 friends if you have no relationship with them?  Wouldn’t your constant updates about your products seem like spam?  If you’re doing nothing but broadcasting, your updates are nothing more than that.

It’s not too hard to comprehend.  If you think about how most businesses get customers and do your research you will find that it is by word of mouth.  Word of mouth means that these folks have done business with you or have heard of your products and services from a friend and they come to you to do business as a result.  Well, it’s the same way you should approach Facebook and social marketing in general.

There is a fine line between spamming and social marketing.

Being social will help you build relationships, which leads to:

  1. gaining customers
  2. customers telling others in their circle about you
  3. customers, and or fans, sharing your posts, information about your products, and services or helping you promote your next event.

Now that is not to say you should only be social.  You are in business for profit.  Make sure to engage your friends, post others’ information and you will start to see it come back to you.  It’s all about social marketing Kharma (take it from the Dali Blogger). :-)

3 Tips to Build Up Facebook as a Social Marketing Hub

  1. As you build your Facebook friends circle, start by adding those you have already done business with or those you have networked with locally, and build your friends from there.
  2. Add those who are active in the community
    1. responding to wall messages
    2. posting updates
    3. conversation starters
    4. Anyone you think is productive on Facebook, request as a friend
  3. Fill out your Facebook Profile thoroughly with your branding message, but don’t write a biography.  The more thorough and catchy your profile page is, the more others will want to add you as a friend or accept your friend request.

  2. Import all your keywords into a single (or multiple) adgroup. An adgroup can hold up to 2000 keywords so you may need to have more than one.The keyword grouper will then give you the possibility of importing text ads in each new adgroup to be created.

But the best keyword research tool, the most appropriate keyword research software is imeyesite.

  3. Your right facebook marketing is not about the numbers but its about getting to know your customers, having conversations with them about their needs, and answering any questions they may have.

It’s also about giving them positive experiences about your brand thru content, videos, and even sponsoring events and contests.
